CLASSES TO CHOSE FROM
(note: most classes are one hour long each week.  For little ones; 45 minutes, and for visual
art students; 1.5 hours.
Please note:  All classes are divided into different age groups... primary, junior, intermediate
and senior.
DANCE DIVISION:

Ballet -
Dedicated to the artistic and physical
training using classical ballet
syllabus.  Technique and terminology
are studied, students work towards
eventual pointe work.

Tap Jazz Split-
In this class, students study both the
intro to tap and jazz.

Tap-
This modern tap uses center and
barre work to learn time steps,
rhythmic sound, as well as
terminology and technique.  A
vigorous and exciting chorus.  
Includes study in modern, classical
and soft shoe.

Jazz-
Performed to upbeat music, the study
of jazz terminology and technique, an
energy filled style of dance that
promotes flexibility and style.

Hip Hop-
Using Pop and Lock, street style and
freestyle, students learn
combinations to hip hop song.  Fun,
upbeat and popular.  

Contemporary-
Concentrates on the basis of ballet,
jazz and modern study.  The three
dance styles are intermingled to
create fresh and expressive
choreography.

*  New  * Acro-
The study of gymnastics and body
contortion ism, combined with stylized
dance.  Concentrates on technique,
limbering, strengthening and toning
the muscles and flexibility.  Students
work towards building their trick skills.
THEATER DIVISION:

Performance-
This class is the study of theatrical
skill, script and production
exploration,  as well as basic dance.  
Students in this course take on acting
roles in our year end production.   
This course builds confidence, self
expression and self esteem.





VOCALS DIVISION:

Musical theater-
This class is the study of vocal
training.  Students learn and enhance
their skills to sing as soloists and in
groups, with focus on melodic and
harmonic sound.  This is combined
with basic dance skills and
choreographed movement, in order to
create musical theater works.



VISUAL ARTS DIVISION:

*  New * Art study- Ages 8 +
This course is broken into four
semesters over the chorus of the
season:  1) The study of Line, Light
and Dimension (pencil work), 2)
Colour study, with the use of acrylic
paint on canvas, 3) Art history and
expression through art and 4) set
work and design, group art.  Students
explore basic drawing and painting
techniques, with the goal of creating
four finished art pieces.  Students
work on creating a diverse portfolio.  
Students work will be on display at
our year end production in the form of
a gallery, as well as in our stage
backgrounds and sets.
JUST FOR THE LITTLE
ONES
(half hour to 45 minutes in
length each week):

Creative Movement- ages 2- 4
prerequisite training for all dance
forms.  Uses the basis of ballet and
mime as an intro to expressive and
technical dance forms.

* New * - Triple Threat for
Tykes
ages 3 - 5
students work on basic song, dance
and acting skills.  They take part in
our year end production with their very
own scene, displaying what they have
learned.  A great way to introduce
them to our school and prepare them
for the musical theater and theater
courses.
Registration dates and times for our fall/winter/spring classes running September
2011- 12

August:
Thursday evenings 7 - 9 PM (August 4th and 18th.)
Saturdays 11 AM - 1 PM (August 13th, 20th and 27th.)

September:
Thursday evenings 7 - 9 PM (September 1st , 8th and 15th.)
Saturdays 11 AM - 1 PM  (September 10th) and... Our final day of registration will take
place on Saturday September 17th from 10 - 3 PM during Uptown Keswicks'
HARVEST FESTIVAL'.  

Classes begin the final week of September  2011 and run until the first weekend of
June 2012.
